It all started like most of us...
with that standard box of Crayola's and a coloring book.  However, those rules of "staying within the lines" were quickly abandoned and it became very clear to me ... my passion for design.  I find working with the "elements of design" such as line, shape, value, color, texture, size and direction have endless possibilities and, it's all about that creative challenge that keeps me painting.

My education; along with attending
The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, I've studied locally under artist, Van Waldron and Huihan Liu. Also, I've had the privilege of taking workshops with many of my favorite artists such as, Carolyn Anderson, Kim English, Craig Nelson, Laura Robb, Leonard Wren, Kathleen Dunphy and with the living master Daniel Gerhartz. 

The inspiration;
comes from a variety of things, including travels to Europe, particularly France and Italy. Then of course, there's the vast local beauty of California.

My favorite subjects;
the intimacy of an Interior, the power of structure and perspective in Architecture and, the "old world charm" in European Cityscapes.  Lately, I’ve been painting portraits and enjoying the fascinating challenge with the beauty in the planes of the face. 

 My influence;
from "the greatest one of all"  John Singer Sargent. From his landscapes to interiors and portraits, a true master. 

My life's lesson,  "Never ignore one's passions".

I'm a "California grown" native, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and, currently living in Walnut Creek, with my biggest fan, my husband Bruce.
